3 Great Playstation 2 Games - Entertainment - Video Games

The library of games for the Playstation 2 is immense, but there are some games that stand out above all the others. I have compiled a list of the 3 best Playstation 2 games, in no particular order. Though you may disagree with the actual games on my list, you can't argue that they are not good.

1. The first game on the list is a true classic. In fact, it could be called a library of automotive history as well as a game. Gran Turismo 4 broke the mold when it included over 800 cars, trucks and SUVs for the player to choose from. These vehicles included golden oldies like the original Daimler Benz steam powered car to brand new concept cars like the GT-R concept. In fact, the game encapsulated over 120 years of automotive history. Plus, with the inclusion of the famed Nurburgring in all of its 14 mile glory, the game went above and beyond the normal racing game and turned into one of the most expansive vehicle libraries that also happened to include racing. So true to life are the tracks, that it is said an experienced driver can get around the track in about the same amount of time as the car in the game.

2. If you want to talk about expansive games that really draw you into the playing experience, then you can't leave out Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. This is simply the best GTA that was ever on the PS2 because of the context and storyline. Where else can you dress your guy as a pimp, fly around in an RC helicopter equipped with a machine gun and drive around exploring for hours on end? I can honestly say that I have logged over 100 hours of my life playing and enjoying this game and it had me hooked from the word go.

3. For all out beautiful settings and gloriously gory gameplay, you can't miss with God of War or God of War II. These games, much like Gran Turismo, set the bar very high for graphics and really pushed the PS2 to its limits. The storyline was a thing of beauty and the cut scenes had the polish that would have looked great in a big studio movie production. Plus, the boss fights were epic and extremely cinematic. Everything from the lighting to the acting to the sets were polished and worked perfectly. Oh yeah, and the game was fun to play as well.

These are, of course, just three of the many great games on the PS2, but if you want to see what the system could really do and the fun that it could provide, these are three games that are highly recommended.
